We recently hosted a craft night filled with scrumptious hors d'oeuvres from Coppersmith and lovely conversation by candle-light, making the most fabulous memories with 24 gracious guests. A huge thanks to Cookies By Alexis & Tough Cookies for the exquisite pastries.
For those who weren't able to attend our sold out event, I've attached step-by-step instruction so you can create a valentine's themed DIY masterpiece from the comfort of your own home.
- Shadow Box White Matted Frame 5" x 5"
- Hot Glue Gun
- Hot Glue Sticks
- Card Stock Of Your Choice
First, pick out the card-stock you'd like to use. We recommend choosing complimenting colors, preferably pinks and reds to keep in line with the valentine's theme.
Cut out circles in varied sizes from 1"-3" diameter. Next, draw a spiral on the circle. Now cut out the spiral.
You will now assemble the flower. Make sure your hot glue gun is plugged in and heated up. To begin making your rolled flower, start from the outside and tightly roll from the outside in. After you have rolled it up, relieve some pressure until it unrolls in to your desired shape.
Using the hot glue, dab some at the seam so it will not unravel when you let go of it.
Once the paper flowers are all assembled, arrange them to your liking on the interior of the shadow box. Then glue them down, and Whoolah!
Who knew it was that easy to be so crafty! Tell us how your DIY project came out and where you hung the artwork in the comments below.
Thank you to the wonderful women who came out; see you again at our next event.
